Hi, I’m julia crawford

I have a background in interior and garden design, covering twenty-two years. I’ve always been inspired by the natural world and have vivid memories of exploring my grandad’s garden as a child.

I’ve started Botanic Makers as a way of exploring creativity and nature together. As a garden designer, I’m in contact with plants every day and often want to be able to use the flowers, seeds and leaves I’ve collected for something crafty. As an interior designer, I love having natural items around around the home. Botanic Makers is a way for this to happen and to give others the opportunity to find joy in the natural world.

Our philosophy

My aim is to create a welcoming space where people feel relaxed and inspired to tap into their creativity. I believe creativity flourishes when there’s no pressure to be perfect just the freedom to explore, play and enjoy the process.

Whether you’re picking up a completely new craft or rediscovering an old skill you once loved, our courses are designed to help you feel confident, supported, and encouraged. Each session offers the chance to experiment with natural materials, learn at your own pace, and find joy in making something with your hands.

These creative courses are not just about learning techniques, they’re about creating moments of calm, connection and discovery. It’s a time to pause, immerse yourself in nature inspired making, and leave with both a sense of achievement and something beautiful to take home.
